This position is for Saturday, Sunday, Monday 9 am - 4 pm each day for a total of 21 hours per week.
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide high-quality care to a veteran quadriplegic in his own home. This position is a private pay situation, but through a program administered by the VA. Payroll is done through a payroll agency, so taxes are taken out. You are paid 2x per month.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for the client, ensuring his comfort and safety while promoting independence as much as possible. This role requires a blend of patience, empathy, and practical skills to support him with all activities of daily living, including showers, hygiene care, ostomy care, toileting, tube feeding, and hoyer lift transfers. This position will be for Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays 9 am - 4 pm.
Responsibilities
- Monitor health by observing and reporting any changes in his condition.
- Provide personal care services such as showers, grooming, dressing, and shaving.
- Assist with mobility including hoyer lift transfers in/out of bed and shower chair to wheelchair.
- Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and weight.
- Provide proper tube feeding along with cleaning and maintenance.
- Administer medications both by mouth and through feeding tube.
- Engage with him through meaningful activities tailored to his interests and abilities. This may include transporting him to and from the store, parks, or other appointments or activities of his choosing.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for client by performing light housekeeping tasks within the home, but also including keeping his van, wheelchair, and other durable medical equipment clean.
- Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals regarding client needs through phone calls, text messages, my chart, and emails.
- Assist with ordering supplies and medications.
Experience
- 3 years of previous experience in patient care or home care is REQUIRED, preferably with a client with similar needs.
- Current CNA certification is REQUIRED.
- CPR certification is a plus.
- Current drivers license is REQUIRED. You will need to drive client in his mobility van for a variety of activities and appointments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to maintain a professional work environment, even though this is in client’s home.
- Possess the physical ability to perform tasks safely and effectively.
- Possess the mental health capacity to remain upbeat and positive with a person 100% dependent on your care.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
