About the Internship:
The Rensselaer County Regional Chamber is looking for a student majoring in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or Business Administration. This in-person position will work under the supervision of the Member Relations and Strategic Initiatives Analyst and the Vice President assisting in maintaining active social media accounts, creating graphics, copy-writing, program planning, membership recruitment and general website maintenance. This is a paid OR for credit internshiprequiring 15-20hrs per week, at $17.00/hr if paid or fulfilling a credit bearing course at your College or University.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Marketing Team with maintaining active social media accounts, using voice, and messaging of the Chamber.
- Assist with the creation of social media graphics using Canva.
- Assist the Marketing Team with creating content for events.
- Update website content when necessary.
- Assist with email marketing for upcoming Chamber events and news.
- Communicate Chamber benefits to local businesses.
- Plan and execute Chamber events with the Marketing, Communications, and Events Specialist.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Vice President and Member Relations and Strategic Initiatives Analyst.
- Ability to attend Chamber events when available and capture photos and video content.
Internship Requirements:
- Current undergraduate student majoring in marketing, communications, public relations, business, sales, event management, digital media, graphic design, web design, or a related field.
- Able to commit to up to 20hrs per week.
- Excellent written and oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
- Teachable and hard-work ethic.
- Works well as a member of a team.
- Experience in Canva or equivalent graphic design platform.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tiktok.
- Experience with WordPress, website design, photography, or video editing is a plus.
- Reliable Transportation.
- Willingness to attend off-site events as needed.
