Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Assist with meal assembly, plating, and portion control to ensure consistency across all dishes
- Maintain a clean and organized work station by cleaning utensils, equipment, and work surfaces regularly
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on ingredient quality and kitchen workflow
Experience
- Previous food industry experience in a restaurant or catering setting is highly desirable
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe adherence
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and food safety management practices
- Skilled in using kitchen tools such as knives with slicing techniques that ensure efficiency and safety
- Experience working with dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required
- Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with team members in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
