The Porch Store is an innovative company designing products for the outdoor living environment. We design and fabricate our products using wood, metal and cellular PVC. We have a 21,000 sq ft. shop that we are quite proud of with all the tools and equipment needed.
The ideal person would be someone interested in learning about working with hardwoods and PVC in a shop environment. This job fits a person who pays attention to details and enjoys learning new skills. The ability to listen and follow direction is required. A positive attitude is essential.

Below are the areas of the shop that the shop assistant would be involved with:
PVC Products: Assist with fabrication of PVC products including outdoor cabinets, pvc porch swings, operating our CNC router producing custom PVC porch railing panels
Wood Products: Assist with manufacture of custom wood doors, porch swing bed parts
Shipping and Receiving: Assist with building shipping crates, packaging up products, loading and unloading shipments
Misc. Responsibilities: Assist Shop Manager with day-to-day operations, clean shop, maintain tools
We are constantly innovating and creating new products. We are looking for someone that is passionate about creating unique products.
Qualifications
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for woodworking tasks
- Basic understanding of carpentry and construction principles
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and construction site protocols
- Experience in woodworking and related fabrication techniques
- Knowledge of construction estimating and trim carpentry is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Summary
As a Woodworking Shop Craftsman, you will support the woodworking team by utilizing core skills in hand tools, power tools, and carpentry to assist in various projects. Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, your role will involve fabricating wood products and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your understanding of construction processes and ability to read blueprints will be essential in executing tasks efficiently. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop premium skills in construction estimating and trim carpentry while contributing to the overall success of our projects.
