Children’s Program is a private multidisciplinary children’s mental health clinic in SW Portland, employing more than 30+ professionals (psychologists, licensed professional counselors, developmental & behavioral pediatricians, and a psychiatrist) and has served thousands of families over three decades.
We are seeking a dynamic, organized person to join our team. The Intake Team is the first point of contact for families seeking services at the Children’s Program. We review families’ requests for diagnosis and treatment and reach out to parents to discuss clinical needs and providers’ availability for appointments.
Our new Intake Specialist will:
- Field inquiries received via phone, email, and our online inquiry form;
- Follow up with families who have been scheduled with a clinician, to ensure that they have completed required paperwork prior to their first appointment;
- Schedule in-house referrals from one clinician to another within our clinic;
- Compile and manage monthly intake data for record-keeping;
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating evaluations for children in the Child Welfare Program.
Essential qualifications to be considered for this post include:
- 1 year prior experience providing administrative or customer service support in a clinical setting (e.g., medical, dental, mental health office)
- Working proficiency with MS Office365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to quickly master new software applications and procedures
- Strong organizational skills and ability to independently manage work flow
- Demonstrated curiosity, flexibility, and ability to troubleshoot situations in the moment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of both a small team and larger organization
- Ability to work efficiently and communicate well under pressure
- Working knowledge and familiarity with clinical mental health terminology
Candidates will be more competitive if they also have one or more of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a focus in a mental health field of study
- Prior experience in an educational setting working with parents’ to address their child’s perceived needs
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
