About United Marble & Tile
United Marble & Tile is a third-generation, family-owned commercial flooring contractor serving the Midwest since 1974. We specialize in commercial flooring installations for retail, restaurant, healthcare, education, and other commercial facilities. We are seeking an experienced Independent Tile Installation Contractor to partner with us on commercial projects throughout our service area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an established contractor who wants to build and lead their own crew while partnering with a company that has a steady pipeline of commercial flooring work across the Midwest.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial ceramic tile, porcelain tile, quarry tile, wall tile, and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) in accordance with project specifications.
- Perform floor preparation, layout, cutting, setting, grouting, and finishing.
- Install Schluter systems, waterproofing membranes, expansion joints, and transition materials as required by project specifications.
- Read blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications.
- Recruit, supervise, and manage your own installation crew.
- Coordinate manpower and scheduling to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional job site.
- Work closely with United Marble & Tile project managers and general contractors.
- Travel to commercial projects throughout Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota, and Colorado.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial tile installation experience.
- Must be proficient in installing:
- Ceramic Tile
- Porcelain Tile
- Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT)
- Wall Tile
- Experience installing quarry tile is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and commercial project specifications.
- Ability to recruit, build, and manage your own crew.
- Must own and maintain all required installation tools and equipment.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout our service area.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Independent Contractor Requirements
This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.
The contractor is responsible for providing:
- All labor, supervision, and crew members.
- All installation tools and equipment.
- Reliable transportation.
- All lodging, meals, fuel, and travel expenses.
- Required insurance and applicable business licenses.
United Marble & Tile will provide all project materials required to complete each job.
