Project Lead the Way Teacher
REPORTS TO
Dr. Lora Street, Middle School Principal
JOB FUNCTION
The Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Teacher delivers hands-on, project-based STEM instruction aligned with the PLTW curriculum. This role engages students in real-world problem solving, innovation, and critical thinking while preparing them for college and career pathways in engineering, biomedical science, or computer science.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Engineering, Science, Computer Science, or related field
- Valid North Carolina teaching license
- Willingness to complete PLTW certification/training
Preferred:
- Experience with Project-Based Learning (PBL)
- Experience teaching STEM or related coursework
- Familiarity with industry tools, technology, or engineering/design processes
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement PLTW curriculum with fidelity (Engineering, Biomedical Science, or Computer Science pathways)
- Facilitate student-centered, project-based learning experiences
- Integrate real-world applications, design thinking, and problem-solving strategies
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Participate in required PLTW Core Training and ongoing professional development
- Create a collaborative, inquiry-driven classroom culture
- Encourage creativity, innovation, and perseverance
- Support students in completing projects, presentations, and portfolios
- Appreciation for the life and mind of the K-8 scholar and future leader of our world
- Personal qualities that exemplify PSPA’s emphasis on our core values
- Skillful at using a variety of assessment methods and data to
- pinpoint students’ strengths and weaknesses and skillful atapplying instructional practices to address diverse learning needs

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT
Ten Month/Annual Contract (Starting August 2026)
COMPENSATION
Salary will be determined based on PSPA budget and experience. Pine Springs Preparatory Academy does not follow the NC salary schedule and does not participate in the NC State Retirement System. PSPA offers a 401k program with a board matching percentage and health coverage options.
