A well-established, high-volume personal injury law firm in Las Vegas is seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Division Manager to lead its pre-litigation case management team. This is a non-attorney leadership role overseeing the team responsible for managing PI cases from intake through pre-suit resolution or referral to litigation.
Position Summary
The Pre-Litigation Division Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of the pre-litigation case management team, ensuring cases move efficiently through treatment, demand preparation, and negotiation phases. The manager will also manage a small amount of high-value case files. This role is a true leadership role which requires hands-on PI pre-litigation expertise combined with proven people-management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of pre-litigation case managers and legal assistants, including workload distribution, performance management, and coaching
- Monitor case aging, treatment status, and demand-readiness across the division; enforce protocols to keep cases moving efficiently
- Set and track KPIs for the division (case cycle time, demand turnaround, settlement rates, caseload per case manager, driving average case values etc.)
- Review and approve demand packages before submission
- Handle escalations on complex negotiations or problem files
- Partner with intake, litigation, and management on case handoff timing and criteria
- Identify bottlenecks in the pre-litigation workflow and implement process improvements and case velocity.
- Improve divisional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Train new case managers on firm protocols, software, and negotiation standards
- Report division performance metrics to firm leadership
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in personal injury pre-litigation case management
- Minimum 2+ years in a supervisory or management role, preferably over a case management team
- Deep knowledge of PI pre-litigation workflow: treatment monitoring, medical records/billing, demand drafting, negotiation strategy, liens
- Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- Experience with case management software. SmartAdvocate experience is a major plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing metrics-driven teams
