Position Overview
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation. This role ensures that bids are complete, aligned with project requirements, and financially viable. The Estimator works closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to support successful project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and work.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and maintain accurate cost databases.
- Solicit and evaluate supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, potential risks, and value‑engineering options.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop bid strategies and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals, cost summaries, and supporting documentation.
- Update estimates as project details evolve and participate in post‑bid reviews.
- Maintain historical cost records to improve future estimating accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as an Estimator in construction.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX, ProEst, or similar tools.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
- Knowledge of local building codes, industry standards, and market pricing.
Work Environment
- Primarily office‑based with occasional site visits depending on project needs.
- Fast‑paced environment with deadlines tied to bid schedules.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
