The Role
The Project Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the successful execution of construction projects from start to finish. Working closely with the project team, you'll help ensure seamless coordination, problem solving, and quality control to keep projects on track, on budget, and aligned with client expectations. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will help drive the success of Scott-Long Construction and our valued partners.
What You'll Do
- Read, understand, and maintain current construction documents
- Assist with permit acquisition and tracking
- Oversee submittal, RFI, and document distribution processes
- Track and manage change orders, material deliveries, and tracking logs
- Attend meetings, job site visits, and preconstruction/preparatory subcontractor meetings
- Draft and manage meeting minutes
- Assist in project startup, scheduling, and closeout processes
- Understand and assist in updating project schedules, sequencing, and critical paths
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 1 to 3 years of experience in construction project coordination required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk, and Bluebeam
