Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a high-acuity PCU assignment in Columbus, Ohio supporting a medical oncology patient population.
This role provides advanced progressive care and telemetry monitoring in a fast-paced oncology-focused environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW
This opportunity is ideal for nurses with true high-acuity PCU experience who are comfortable managing complex oncology patients requiring continuous monitoring and rapid clinical decision-making.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
- 13-week contract
- Day or Night shift | 3x12 (07:00–19:30 or 19:00–07:30)
- Self-scheduling (requests submitted prior to final schedule)
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- Floating required to equivalent or lower acuity units
COMPENSATION
- Gross: $2,359 per week
- W2: $24.50 per hour
- Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide care to high-acuity oncology PCU patients
- Perform continuous telemetry and cardiac monitoring
- Administer blood products, IV medications, and oncology-related therapies
- Manage central lines, ports, and complex IV access
- Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary oncology teams
- Document care accurately in Epic EMR
UNIT OVERVIEW
- Medical Oncology Progressive Care Unit
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- PCU ratio: 1:3
- Med/Surg Tele: 1:4–1:5
- Strong focus on infection prevention and patient safety
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years RN experience REQUIRED
- High-acuity PCU experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
- Strong telemetry experience REQUIRED
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS REQUIRED
- Epic EMR experience REQUIRED
- Ability to float within PCU or equivalent units REQUIRED
- Valid compact or Ohio RN license REQUIRED at submission
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Important Notes:
- Oncology experience preferred but NOT required
- Med/Surg-only candidates without PCU/telemetry experience should NOT be submitted
- Previous travel experience preferred
- RTO must be submitted with application
- Local candidates accepted
