Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Diesel/Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Final pay will be discussed upon interview. Employee must provide their own tools. Class A CDL is a plus but not required.
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical components using OEM specifications and schematics.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignments, and fluid replacements to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, tractor-trailers, and other machinery to assist in repair or testing procedures.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools and electrical experience to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
- Read and interpret schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, and mechanical assemblies to ensure precise repairs.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and quality assurance purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy equipment or industrial machinery; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT), OEM parts standards, and heavy-duty vehicle systems.
- Hands-on experience with excavators, tractors, trailers, HVAC systems on heavy machinery, and farm equipment.
- Proficiency in using schematics for troubleshooting electrical systems and hydraulics; ability to interpret technical manuals accurately.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance including transmissions, air brakes, alignment procedures, suspension systems, tires/tire service.
- Ability to operate power tools safely while performing heavy lifting tasks; familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.
- Valid certifications related to diesel engine repair, brake repair, electrical systems or heavy equipment operation are advantageous.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
