Details:
- The Material Handler moves, sorts, and handles steel materials throughout the production facility. This role requires strong attention to detail, a focus on safety, and the ability to maintain quality standards while supporting production operations. Responsibilities include verifying materials, completing required documentation, performing quality inspections, and keeping the work area clean and organized. Cross-training and forklift operation opportunities are available after successful training and certification.
- 1st Shift, Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Overtime Available)
- $19/hr
- Waterman, IL
Responsibilities:
- Sort and organize steel rods and steel sheets according to production requirements.
- Perform quality checks to ensure materials meet company standards.
- Verify material identification and ensure accurate movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and handling materials as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and work instructions.
- Operate forklifts after completing company training and certification requirements.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must meet E-Verify requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and be cross-trained in multiple areas.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
