Job Summary
We pride ourselves on the culinary creations served from our kitchen, and are looking for someone who pays attention to the details while maintaining the speed needed in the crush of service. They must also enjoy working in a busy restaurant environment and are capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. This position will run the line and be able to context switch as needed to assist with batter, waffles, dishes, etc. We are a very small kitchen team and we're looking for the Swiss Army knife of line cooks who enjoys doing a little bit of everything and can lead with grace under pressure.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Run the savory and sweet sides of the line.
- Ability to make waffle batter and fire waffles.
- Make food to-order, including eggs and plate waffles.
- Be able to move between tasks quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to keep pace with the order demands.
- Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
- Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
Qualifications
- Able to read and follow standardized recipes
- Comfortable working in a fast paced kitchen environment
- High standards for what comes out of the kitchen
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
Bonus Skills
- Experience working with gluten free and dairy free
Hours & Pay
- 18-30 hours a week, must be able to work early morning shifts from 6am-2pm
- Pay ranges from $18-$20 depending on experience
- Part of BOH tip pool on top of hourly rate, this usually adds $3-$5/hour to your pay
