Avalanche Soccer Club is a Wheat Ridge, Colorado based youth soccer club seeking passionate and experienced Soccer Coaches to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a background in sports coaching, particularly in soccer, and a strong ability to work with kids between the ages of 8-16 years old.
Description: Avalanche SC is seeking a coach for Academy (U9-U10) or Competitive (U11-U18) level teams. Team Coaches focus on the development of the individual players & teams while working with an age group lead coach. Avalanche utilizes a centralized training model where age groups train together. Team Coach will coordinate and communicate with families on a regular basis. This is a seasonal contract, paid position.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct 2 to 3 team training sessions per week (depending on the age and playing level) Maintain a positive, professional, and energetic training environment
- Attend games on Saturdays and some Sundays. 8 games per season & 2 tournaments.
- Facilitate match management duties for each team (warm-up prior to matches, line-ups, substitutions, match tactics, etc.)
- Respond to emails from team members, parents, opposing coaches, club Administrator, Director of Coaching in 24 hours.
- Manage/support team participating in tournaments.
- Lead their respective teams into the competitive tryout process, including player placement recommendations.
- Attend and assist in the tryout process for all Avalanche teams. Team coaches will also conduct player evaluations and hold team meetings.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a background check and have a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to participate in coach education offered by the club and by US Soccer.
- Must have previous soccer playing or coaching experience.
- Must complete SafeSport and Concussion training.
- Must have reliable transportation
Schedule & Commitment
- Training: Typically 3 evenings per week
- Games: Weekends (league and tournaments)
- Seasonal alignment: Fall & Spring seasons (with optional winter/summer involvement)
