Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Spanish Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication between Spanish-speaking clients and healthcare, social services, or legal professionals. This role is vital in ensuring that language barriers do not hinder access to essential services. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpretation skills, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to confidentiality. As a Spanish Interpreter, you will play a key role in supporting diverse populations by providing precise translation and interpretation services in dynamic settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide real-time interpretation for spoken communication during medical appointments, social work sessions, legal consultations, and other client interactions
- Translate written documents such as medical records, social service reports, and legal paperwork from Spanish to English and vice versa
- Assist with documentation review to ensure accuracy and completeness of translated materials
- Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality standards, including HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy and data security
- Support communication with bilingual clients in hospital settings, child protective services, and community outreach programs
- Facilitate effective communication between healthcare providers, social workers, legal professionals, and clients by interpreting accurately and efficiently
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, social work procedures, and child protective services protocols to enhance interpretation quality
Experience
- Multilingual proficiency in Spanish and English with exceptional interpretation skills in both languages
- Prior experience in medical interpretation or healthcare settings preferred
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and the importance of confidentiality in sensitive environments
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to hospitals, clinics, or social services agencies
- Experience working with children’s protective services or hospital medical records is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret complex information clearly and professionally
- Bilingual certification or formal training in interpretation highly desirable
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
