Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that incorporates literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori principles to support diverse learning styles.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence among children.
- Manage classroom routines, behavior management strategies, and child welfare protocols to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings and written updates.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor each child's growth and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques to enhance program quality.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate records related to child safety, attendance, and incident reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings such as daycare centers, preschools, or private schools.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development including literacy education, math instruction, physical education, special education needs, and Montessori methods.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to adhere to state licensing requirements and mandated reporting laws related to child welfare.
- Experience with toddler care, preschool teaching, or working with students requiring early intervention services is highly desirable.
