About the Role
Hall Freight Services is bringing on experienced cradle-to-grave freight brokers to run their own book as independent agents under our agency office model. We're actively building out the team and looking to bring on 5 agents. You already know how to work a lane end to end: build the relationship, source and vet the carrier, negotiate the rate, track the load, and close out the paperwork. We give you the authority and structure to run that business under the Hall Freight name, and you keep growing it.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not a W-2 role. You operate as an agent of Hall Freight Services, working your own accounts and carriers under our authority.
Who We're Looking For
- Brokers with real cradle-to-grave experience: you can own a shipment from quote to delivery to invoice without needing your hand held.
- A portable book of business. Any size. What matters is that it's active, real freight you can bring with you and build from, not a resume line.
- Comfortable working independently and being paid on performance, not a salary.
- Carrier and customer relationships you can put to work on day one.
Compensation
Commission-based. Splits range from 30% to 60% of the gross margin your book generates, scaling up as your book grows. No salary, no draw, no cap.
These are average splits. If you're bringing an exceptionally large book, let's talk. There's room to go higher than the standard range for the right business.

Operational Backing:
- Operating authority to run your freight under
- Contingent cargo insurance covering the brokerage, on top of standard carrier (truck) insurance verification on every load
- Factoring relationships with names like OTR Capital, RTS Financial, and WEX, with more being added as we grow. Our credit standing is solid, and when a carrier needs it, we'll get on the phone with the factoring company directly to help get them approved
- An agency office structure built for independent brokers, not a call-center environment
- Real investment in what it takes to service your customer. We'll adjust structure, process, or support on our end to keep an account serviced right
- Direct access to leadership. This is a lean, relationship-driven shop
Book Ownership
Any companies you bring with you to Hall Freight are yours. If you ever leave, they leave with you. And we're not just protecting what you already have. We're invested in helping you grow it, and new business you build while you're here is yours too. House accounts we hand you to service are the exception. Those belong to Hall Freight, not your portable book.
