Soccer Shots Coach Job Description
Position Overview
The Soccer Shots Coach is responsible for leading fun, safe, and engaging soccer sessions for children ages 2–8 while following the Soccer Shots curriculum. Coaches create a positive learning environment through energy, enthusiasm, and strong communication with children, parents, and partner locations.
Qualifications
· Experience working with young children preferred
· Energetic, positive, and professional attitude
· Strong communication and classroom management skills
· Ability to adapt quickly in different environments
· Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations
· Must be at least 18 years old and/or have a high school diploma
· Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and clean driving record required
· Coaches are responsible for driving themselves to assigned locations
· Must pass a background check and Child Abuse History Clearance
· CPR and First Aid Certification required (or willingness to obtain certification)
Responsibilities
Coaching & Session Delivery
· Lead 30–45 minute soccer sessions for children ages 2–8
· Follow the Soccer Shots curriculum and lesson plans
· Create a high-energy and engaging learning environment
· Manage group behavior while keeping sessions fun and organized
Travel & Scheduling
· Travel to schools, parks, and daycare locations
· Drive approximately 20–30 minutes to the first location
· Travel between 2–3 locations per day on average
· Work morning and afternoon/evening sessions with possible breaks between schedules
Adaptability
· Adjust sessions based on group size, age, and skill level
· Adapt to different environments including fields, playgrounds, gyms, and classrooms
· Safely operate in shared spaces with other children and activities
Child Supervision & Safety
· Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
· Follow all Soccer Shots safety procedures and policies
· Safely manage player transitions at schools and park locations
Customer Service & Communication
· Build positive relationships with parents, teachers, and school directors
· Represent Soccer Shots professionally at all times
· Maintain strong communication with partner locations and families
Administrative Responsibilities
· Track attendance and participation
· Maintain and organize coaching equipment
· Prepare for sessions using weekly lesson plans
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, run, and remain active for long periods
· Ability to lift and carry coaching equipment
· Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions
Work Environment
· Sessions are held at schools, parks, and recreational facilities
· Combination of morning and afternoon/evening schedules
· Coaches may have breaks between session blocks
Additional Information
Although coaches may lead sessions independently, they are always part of a collaborative and supportive team environment with ongoing communication, training, and support.
Coaches may also manage school accounts and are expected to build strong relationships with parents, teachers, and directors while delivering a professional, high-quality experience. Coaches are encouraged to help maintain strong Soccer Friends enrollment participation to create interactive and enjoyable sessions for the children.
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
