PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for providing campuswide instructional leadership under the direction of the campus principal by coordinating curriculum, assessment, professional learning communities, intervention systems, staff development, mentoring/advising, and academic programs to improve teaching quality and student achievement and ensure alignment with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), district expectations, and campus improvement goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in educational administration, curriculum and instruction, or a related field Valid Texas principal or other appropriate certificate Valid Texas teaching certificate and certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of curriculum design, implementation, alignment, and standards-based instruction Ability to interpret student performance data and evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to lead professional learning communities and coach teachers and instructional leaders Ability to develop and deliver effective professional learning for adult learners
Knowledge of multi-tiered systems of support, intervention planning, progress monitoring, state assessment, and accountability requirements
Ability to effectively use technology to analyze data, support instruction, and communicate information
Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively and make effective decisions
Experience:
10 years of teaching experience

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Leadership
(1) Provide campuswide instructional leadership and support teachers in maintaining high expectations for all students and improving academic achievement.
(2) Coordinate implementation of district curriculum and instructional programs to ensure alignment with the TEKS, district scope and sequence, and campus goals.
(3) Work cooperatively with district curriculum and instruction staff, campus administrators, and teacher leaders to facilitate effective professional learning communities.
(4) Guide collaborative teams in developing common learning expectations, formative assessments, instructional responses, and enrichment opportunities.
(5) Conduct classroom walkthroughs and observations, analyze evidence of student learning, and provide timely coaching and feedback to strengthen instructional practice.
(6) Assist teachers in aligning the written, taught, and assessed curriculum and in designing rigorous, engaging, and differentiated learning experiences.
(7) Model effective instructional strategies and support the appropriate use of instructional technology, materials, and resources.
(8) Monitor the effectiveness of curriculum, instruction, and academic programs and recommend changes based on student needs, research, and program evaluation findings.
(9) Collaborate with the principal in developing and implementing the master schedule to support course access, appropriate student placement, intervention, acceleration, and academic success. Assessment, Intervention, and Student Support
(10) Serve as the campus testing coordinator and oversee the planning, scheduling, administration, security, and documentation of all state, district, and local assessments.
(11) Train staff on testing procedures and coordinate student accommodations and designated supports with appropriate campus personnel.
(12) Maintain accurate testing records, inventories, reports, and incident documentation while ensuring compliance with all state and district requirements.
(13) Analyze state, district, campus, classroom, and student-group data to identify trends, instructional priorities, achievement gaps, and needed supports.

(14) Coordinate campus systems for student support, including SST/RTI/MTSS processes, intervention planning, documentation, and progress monitoring.
(15) Monitor assessment programs and data to support appropriate student placement, targeted instruction, intervention, enrichment, and acceleration.
(16) Plan and coordinate tutorials, credit recovery, intervention, and other academic support programs for students who need additional assistance.
(17) Assist with planning and administration of state and local assessments and ensure assessment results are used to improve instruction.
(18) Support programs and strategies that improve graduation outcomes and college, career, and military readiness, including advanced academics, dual credit, and industry-based certification opportunities. Professional Learning and Staff Support
(19) Design, coordinate, and provide professional development based on student achievement data, classroom evidence, district initiatives, and identified campus needs.
(20) Lead or support the campus teacher mentor and induction program and provide targeted assistance to new teachers and teachers needing additional instructional support.
(21) Build the instructional leadership capacity of department chairs, team leaders, instructional coaches, and other teacher leaders.
(22) Promote collaboration, reflective practice, and continuous professional growth among campus staff. School Improvement and Compliance
(23) Coordinate campus efforts related to College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR), accountability, dual credit, and post-secondary preparation.
(24) Monitor and verify CCMR, accountability, graduation, and dual-credit data and coordinate targeted support for students who have not met identified criteria.
(25) Collaborate with counselors, district personnel, colleges, and community partners to expand student access to dual credit, advanced academics, industry-based certifications, and other CCMR opportunities.
(26) Coordinate academic advising to ensure students and families understand graduation requirements, endorsements, course sequences, and postsecondary opportunities.
(27) Review student transcripts, credits, assessment results, and graduation plan to identify scheduling needs, interventions, acceleration opportunities, and barriers to graduation.

(28) Assist with course selection, student placement, master scheduling, and academic program planning to ensure appropriate access to required and advanced coursework.
(29) Facilitate and assist with development, implementation, and monitoring of the campus improvement plan, including measurable academic goals, strategies, and progress indicators. (30) Ensure student progress and program effectiveness are evaluated regularly and systematically and that findings are used to improve instructional programs and student services.
(31) Compile, maintain, and submit reports, records, and documentation required by law, district policy, and administrative procedures. School and Community Relations
(32) Investigate student discipline referrals, conference with students, staff, and parents, and assign appropriate consequences and interventions consistent with the Student Code of Conduct and district procedures.
(33) Maintain accurate discipline records and analyze discipline data to identify trends, repeat offenses, and needed behavioral or academic support.
(34) Collaborate with campus personnel and families to develop student interventions and assist with supervision during the school day, transitions, arrival, dismissal, and campus activities.
(35) Conference with parents, students, teachers, counselors, and administrators to address academic concerns and develop coordinated support for student success.
(36) Communicate campus academic expectations, programs, progress, and opportunities to students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
(37) Build positive relationships with students, staff, families, district personnel, and community partners to support high levels of learning for all students.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and dismissal of assigned instructional staff, including teachers and paraprofessionals.
