We are currently seeking a Tool Designer for a direct hire opportunity, offering compensation up to $50 per hour, commensurate with your professional background.
Core Duties-
Conceptualize and engineer tool and die solutions that align with specific client needs, production capacities, and manufacturing standards.

Develop precise 3D models, flat blank layouts, and technical engineering drawings utilizing SolidWorks and LogoPress, with Cadkey proficiency considered an asset.

Engineer diverse punch press tooling solutions, encompassing automated systems, stage tooling, and progressive dies.

Verify the functionality and production viability of designs by constructing and evaluating prototypes.

Analyze incoming engineering specifications, RFQs, CAD files, and client-provided drawings.

Work alongside the toolroom, quality assurance, and machine operators to ensure seamless production support.

Determine optimal materials for tooling to balance cost-efficiency with long-term performance and durability.

Enhance overall productivity and output quality by identifying tooling malfunctions and executing effective design modifications.

Support ongoing process improvements while managing all necessary engineering records.
Ideal Background-
Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Background in the design of sheet metal fabrication tooling, metal stamping, or progressive dies.

Strong command of CAD platforms, specifically LogoPress and SolidWorks.

Solid grasp of blueprint interpretation and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.

Familiarity with various production methods, such as metal fabrication, stamping, EDM, and CNC machining.

Excellent capabilities in communication, analytical thinking, and complex problem-solving.
