Master Minds Academy is seeking a dependable, organized, and experienced School Cafeteria Worker to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals while ensuring full compliance with all Child Care Food Program (CCFP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) regulations.
⭐ CCFP and NSLP experience is REQUIRED. Applicants without this experience will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to approved menus.
- Ensure all meals meet USDA, CCFP, and NSLP meal pattern requirements.
- Accurately complete meal counts, production records, temperature logs, and required program documentation.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal food program regulations.
- Practice proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety procedures.
- Receive, rotate, and properly store food deliveries using FIFO methods.
- Keep the kitchen, serving areas, refrigerators, freezers, and storage rooms clean and organized.
- Monitor food inventory and notify administration when supplies need to be ordered.
- Work cooperatively with school staff and interact positively with children.
- Assist with inspections, audits, and food program reviews.
- Perform other cafeteria duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of school cafeteria experience required.
- Hands-on experience with both CCFP and NSLP is REQUIRED.
- Knowledge of USDA meal patterns, portion sizes, production records, and compliance requirements.
- Food Handler Certification/Manager (or ability to obtain one).
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a preschool and elementary school setting.
- Experience using electronic meal counting systems and maintaining compliance documentation.
- Knowledge of Florida school nutrition regulations and health inspections.
