Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning according to recipes and food safety standards
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient prep to ensure timely meal production during service hours
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and fryers safely and efficiently
- Follow food handling procedures to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with safety regulations
- Support the cooking process by executing recipes accurately and adhering to presentation standards
- Maintain a clean work station by cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment regularly throughout the shift
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure smooth workflow during busy periods
Skills
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles demonstrating knowledge of food handling and safety protocols
- Proven food preparation and cooking skills with a focus on knife techniques and slicing methods
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal assembly in a restaurant or catering environment
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Strong understanding of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
