Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill a Maintenance Technician position for a manufacturing client in Athens, AL. This is a Temp/Contract job. Apply now!
Duties for this position include:
- Perform maintenance, repair, and installation of plant equipment and facilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Repair machinery and equipment to minimize production downtime
- Perform preventative maintenance, including inspecting motors, belts, and fluid levels
- Diagnose malfunctions using testing equipment, schematics, and drawings
- Dismantle and reassemble machines to replace defective parts
- Plan and complete repair work using blueprints, manuals, and diagrams
- Install and repair electrical components, wiring, piping, and machinery
- Clean and lubricate machinery components such as shafts, bearings, and gears
- Maintain HVAC systems and overall facility operations
- Complete PMs and ensure all maintenance documentation is accurate
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Compensation (USD):
$20.00 - $40.00/hour
Depending on Experience
Schedule:
1st Shift
Monday - Friday
7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Overtime and on-call work may be required
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical school training preferred
- 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience (CNC environment required)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and plant maintenance systems
- Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Experience with CNC equipment and tooling
- Forklift and aerial lift experience preferred
- PLC/automation experience a plus
- Fabrication and machining experience (manual mill/lathe) a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
