Guard 1 Security is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Security Operations & GPS Monitoring Specialist to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting daily security operations through GPS monitoring, alarm response, customer communication, reporting, and coordination with field personnel and management.
The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with technology, able to multitask, and capable of making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
Position ResponsibilitiesGPS Monitoring & Daily Operations
- Plan and monitor the day-to-day operations of GPS tracking systems.
- Review incoming GPS tracking requests and prioritize job responsibilities for the day.
- Monitor GPS tracking activity to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Process GPS tracking requests that require situational review.
- Respond to system and device alarms and manage incidents according to established procedures.
- Monitor real-time security activity and identify potential issues requiring attention.
- Analyze real-time security and supply chain information to assist with operational decision-making.
- Follow company procedures while efficiently utilizing available resources.
- Coordinate responsibilities and break times with co-workers and applicable personnel.
- Communicate special needs or requests for assistance to supervisors and management.
Reporting & Shift Handoffs
- Prepare daily reports, shift pass-downs, and other operational documentation.
- Utilize Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel and Word, to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Review information from previous shifts to ensure continuity of operations.
- Ensure outstanding issues and requests are properly communicated to the appropriate personnel.
AI Annotation & Technology
- Review AI-generated suggestions within company systems.
- Accept, correct, or modify AI suggestions as needed to improve system accuracy and performance.
- Maintain familiarity with GPS tracking systems, company portals, and other operational technology.
- Participate in training related to new systems, procedures, software, and company portal upgrades.
Customer & Internal Communication
- Monitor company email and text communications and respond or route requests as needed.
- Review emails and communications from previous shifts to ensure incoming requests have been addressed.
- Communicate through company email, text messaging, and WhatsApp accounts as required.
- Make and receive telephone calls as necessary.
- Communicate professionally with customers, employees, supervisors, vendors, and management.
- Respond promptly and professionally to questions, concerns, and operational requests.
Knowledge & Professional Development
- Receive and participate in training related to GPS tracking procedures and company systems.
- Maintain current knowledge of company procedures, technology, and operational requirements.
- Participate in refresher training as required.
- Report knowledge gaps, system issues, or training needs to management.
- Maintain a willingness to learn new technology, procedures, and operational processes.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Some college or military experience preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of three years of relevant industry experience preferred.
- Previous experience in security operations, dispatch, GPS monitoring, security management, logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with GPS tracking or monitoring software is a plus.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
- State of Texas Level III Security Officer License.
- Additional professional certifications may be required depending on job responsibilities.

- Ability to work with multiple computer systems and applications simultaneously.

Working Conditions
Work is generally performed in an office environment using standard office equipment and computer systems. The working environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature.
Work from home may be required during emergency situations.
