Full-Time Optical Sales Associate / Optician

We are seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-focused individual to join our fast-paced, high-volume optical team. This is a full-time position for someone who enjoys helping people, is comfortable working with computers, and can confidently guide patients through purchasing decisions.
The right candidate will bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience. Optical experience is preferred, but we are willing to train an outstanding candidate with strong sales and customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Identify each patient’s lifestyle, vision, and eyewear needs.
- Explain frame, lens, and treatment options in clear, understandable language.
- Make appropriate recommendations without using a high-pressure sales approach.
- Assist patients with frame selection, measurements, and eyewear purchases.
- Accurately enter patient, order, insurance, and payment information.
- Process transactions and collect payments.
- Manage multiple patients and priorities in a busy optical environment.
- Answer phones and communicate clearly with patients, laboratories, and team members.
- Follow up on orders and help resolve patient concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical area.
- Work collaboratively with doctors and staff to keep patient flow efficient.
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Meet individual and department service and sales goals.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous optical, optometry, healthcare, or medical-office experience.
- Knowledge of frames, lenses, coatings, and optical measurements.
- Experience with electronic health records or practice-management software.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, vision insurance, HIPAA, or medical coding.
- Previous retail sales or leadership experience.
