Music Therapist Part- Time– Memory Care
St. Camillus is seeking a creative and compassionate Recreation Therapist or Music Therapist to enhance the quality of life for residents in Memory Care, with a focus on individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
Schedule: 2 Full days, 16 hours per week with opportunity to pick up more hours if you choose.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individualized and group programs
- Assess residents’ interests, abilities, and therapeutic needs
- Develop engaging therapeutic interventions that meet residents' social, communicative, cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. Therapeutic interventions may include music and sensory, movement, life review, lyric analysis, resident-lead large group sing-along, and group drumming.
- Encourage resident participation and family involvement
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all policies and regulations
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Assist with community outings, special events, and facility celebrations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy or related field
- Minimum 1 year of dementia experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Creative, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
