The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the service of meals to our residents and guests in our Claremont Restaurant and through catering services as needed. This position is responsible for maintaining the quality of customer service guidelines set forth by The Terraces.
Position Duties
Possess a high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene.
Adhere to department dress code and maintain uniforms.
Display a positive customer service attitude at all times during shift.
Maintain dining room housekeeping, per assigned section (tables, carpet, china, silverware).
Complete all side work as assigned.
Respond to emergencies in the dining room (e.g., choking with Heimlich Maneuver, falls, first aid assistance).
Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages as requested.
Assist in table maintenance throughout the meal.
Clear and pre-bus all plates, glassware, utensils, etc. as needed.
Clear and reset all tables according to standards after each meal.
Handle catering services and special functions when assigned.
Use and keep track of orders in the POS system.
Education and Experience
Completion of Serve Safe™ program upon entry into this position.
Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
Frequently lift up to 10 pounds; rarely lift up to 20 pounds or 40 pounds.
Occasionally reach above shoulder height; frequently reach chest to shoulder and below waist level.
Occasionally carry up to 12 pounds; rarely carry up to 25 pounds.
Frequently push/pull up to 20 pounds; rarely push/pull up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
