Experienced Home Repair & Renovation Technician
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Starting at $24–$30 per hour
Richmond Hill Handyman is looking for an experienced tradesperson who can handle home repairs and smaller renovation projects with limited supervision.
This is not a helper position. We need someone who knows how to work with their hands, solve problems in the field, and complete quality work in clients’ homes.
You may be a good fit if you have worked in remodeling, home repair, construction, property maintenance, or have operated your own small trade business. Our office handles scheduling, customer communication, invoicing, advertising, and job coordination so you can focus on the work.

What You’ll Be Doing
Our projects vary from day to day and may include:
- Carpentry and trim work
- Drywall repair and finishing
- Interior and exterior painting
- Tile installation and repair
- Door and hardware repairs
- Flooring repairs
- Caulking and finish work
- Punch-list projects
- General home repairs
- Home Renovation projects
You will complete many jobs independently and work with another technician or small crew on larger projects.
What We Need
- At least 5 years of paid experience in home repair, remodeling, renovation, construction, or handyman work
- Strong carpentry, repair, and finishing skills
- Ability to complete common repair projects without constant supervision
- Good problem-solving skills
- Professional communication with clients and coworkers
- Clean and organized work habits
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift at least 60 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day
- Ability to pass a background check
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for job notes, photos, and updates
- Owns basic hand tools (Owning your own power tools is also preferred)
Experience with tile is especially valuable.
Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to job sites.
We expect our technicians to arrive prepared, protect the client’s home, keep the jobsite clean, communicate when there is a problem, and take pride in the finished work.
You will not be expected to run every part of the business. You bring the experience and craftsmanship. Our team provides the scheduling, coordination, and support behind you.
