At The Picky Painters, we don't care about empty titles. We care about strategy and efficiency. We are looking for a true Crew Leader who understands how to divide and conquer. If you know how to delegate—putting your $18–$20/hr guys on fast, high-volume prep and rolling while you and your top finishers handle the precision spraying and cutting—our uncapped bonus structure will pay you significantly more than a standard flat wage.

We build an efficiency buffer directly into our project budgets based on high-end market rates. Every job is assigned a set number of target labor hours. If you manage your crew efficiently and finish the project under budget while maintaining our elite quality standards, the labor savings go straight into your pockets.
Because your crew will be a mix of your $25/hr Lead pay and helpers making $15–$20/hr, your ability to delegate is exactly where you unlock the massive bonuses.
Real-World Earning Example (The Blended Crew Strategy):Let's say a residential project is budgeted for 100 hours of labor at our $30.00/hr bid rate, giving you a total labor budget of $3,000.00.You are leading a 3-man crew: Yourself ($25/hr base) and two painters/helpers ($18/hr base). When we add 18% to cover payroll taxes and insurance, your crew's actual blended labor cost sits around $24.00/hour.How you win: Instead of everyone doing the same thing, you delegate the masking, sanding, and standard rolling to the $18/hr guys so they fly through it. You focus on the high-dollar fine-finish spraying.Because of your management, the crew crushes the job 10 hours early—taking only 90 hours total. - Maintain Quality Control: Check your crew's work before the project gets to the final walkthrough so zero time is wasted fixing sloppy mistakes.

Ideal Candidate Requirements
- Proven Field Experience: You MUST have 2+ years of professional painting experience and possess the technical skills and leadership maturity required to run a job site smoothly.
- Logistics: You MUST possess a valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation to get to job sites, an active smartphone, and a personal email address.
- On-Site Attitude: You have a professional demeanor, a steady hand, and enjoy interacting with clients. You take ownership of mistakes and fix them instantly.
- Background Screening: Must pass a standard national criminal background check. We maintain strict safety boundaries regarding violent or theft-related offenses.
Workplace Rules:
- Smoke & Vape-Free Sites: We maintain completely smoke, chew, and vape-free job sites (designated outdoor areas at least 15 feet away from the property are permitted).
- Strictly Drug-Free: We enforce a zero-tolerance, drug-free environment. Due to heavy equipment and ladder safety risks, we do not accept medical marijuana cards as an exemption to our on-site safety policies.
