Field Service Technician

We are searching for a Field Service Technician for our Ontario, CA location.
Under limited supervision, this role provides a variety of pre-sales and after-sales services to customers in both, our facility and in the field. This position will require you to work on electro-mechanical, pneumatic equipment in an industrial environment, cleanrooms as well as commercial facilities. This role will require performing emergency and scheduled maintenance and assist in the sales, installation, modernization, and/or repair of customer equipment and it may require you to troubleshoot equipment. While in the facility, you will aid in a variety of engineering and support tasks utilizing acquired electro-mechanical skills and general testing equipment in order to evaluate, troubleshoot, integrate, or test new and older assemblies associated with our product lines.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of customer’s equipment. Provide training to operators, engineers, maintenance and support personnel.
- Perform operational tests, gather data, analyze faults, and perform repair/upgrade on the customer’s product lines while keeping accurate and detailed documentation and service records.
- Troubleshoot problems and perform repairs, tests, and maintenance of all company equipment. This includes analog and digital circuitry along with the appropriate mechanical adjustments.
- Assist management in special requests, engineering changes, failure analysis and any other requirements for product improvement and quality. Support other Customer Service Engineers on any required remote testing, including Qualification testing and general inquiries.
- Operations Support:
- Promote company products, improve services, and give timely feedback to management regarding customer demand information, suggestions and complaints.
- Participate in the installation, operation and demonstration of our equipment in exhibitions.
- Identify and collect customer’s information and requirements.
- Document, record and provide feedback information for future product improvement
- Field Service:
- 50% travel
- Performs field service activities ensuring that all on-site work is completed in accordance with the approved standards and safety guidelines.
- Assist in the installation of customer equipment and on-site acceptance testing.
- Assist with proper preparation prior to responding to any field effort, including but not limited to; travel requests, security information, checking of test records, installation records, required tools, and any previous modifications.
- Travel to assigned territory as required
- Comply with the company’s rules and regulations and actively protect the company’s interests, profits, and image.
Desired Skills:
- 2-year technical experience desired - Two (2) years experience with electronics, electronic technology ET, or similar work experience.
- Demonstrate excellence in providing customer service. Highly motivated to achieve top level customer satisfaction. Ability to perform successfully in a team environment utilizing excellent verbal and written communication, time management and teamwork skills
- Computer skills: Experience using office-based computer programs. Basic knowledge of programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, and their application in administrative activities.
Travel required, work schedule is M-F but must be available for weekend work if needed. May be at customer's site for either 1day, 1 week, 1 month or more depending on project completion.
Must have valid CA Driver's License and US Passport as a 30-60 day training period abroad is necessary.
