A list of some of the job duties for this position are as follows:
- Mix grout or cement and moving it to the work area
- Lay brick, block, stone or any other CMU
- Construct and set forms; pour & finish concrete
- Ensure that surfaces are prepared before beginning work
- Ensure that the laying of blocks or bricks conforms to blueprints, plans, or drawings
- Check vertical and horizontal alignment using levels and plumb bobs to ensure precision
- Use of the necessary tools such as edging tools, jointers, straightedge, and so on
- Cut CMU (concrete masonry unit) that are needed for corners, arches, and complex patterns
- Ensure that the required tools needed for a job or project are clean, ready and well-kept after the job
- Ensure the job site is well-kept
- Team oriented
