Position Summary
The Senior Revenue Cycle Business Analyst is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining standardized reporting and analytics solutions that support healthcare revenue cycle operations. This role transforms complex clinical, financial, and operational data into actionable insights that drive performance improvement, financial accuracy, and strategic decision-making.
The position partners closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, build data models, and deliver dashboards and reports that support hospital and professional billing functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy standardized reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to accurately define, document, and validate reporting specifications.
- Integrate data from multiple healthcare systems, including hospital billing, professional billing, cost accounting, budget, and general ledger systems.
- Perform complex data analysis to support revenue cycle operations, financial reporting, and executive decision-making.
- Design and maintain scalable data models and certified datasets for revenue cycle KPI reporting.
- Apply advanced analytics techniques to support denials management, AR optimization, and cash forecasting.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify trends, performance gaps, and operational inefficiencies.
- Translate analytical findings into clear, executive-ready presentations and recommendations.
- Lead or contribute to special projects related to revenue cycle analytics and reporting modernization.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, reporting standards, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support continuous improvement initiatives and analytics transformation efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Epic Revenue Data Model (Clarity) Certification required.
- 3+ years of clinical revenue cycle experience.
- Strong understanding of Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB) data.
- Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and Crystal Reports.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and OLAP technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Business, Public Health, or related field.
- Experience with predictive or prescriptive analytics in a healthcare revenue cycle environment.
- Background supporting large, complex healthcare systems or multi-facility environments.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and analytics standardization initiatives.
