Join our dynamic team as a Dog Trainer Apprentice and Kennel Maintenance Worker, where you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and training of our canine residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kennel environment. Duties
- Assist with basic dog training activities, including obedience commands, socialization, and behavior correction under supervision
- Support kennel cleaning and outside routines to ensure a hygienic and safe environment for animals
- Handle dogs safely using proper restraint and e collar utilization techniques during feeding, grooming, and medical care if needed
- Perform routine kennel maintenance tasks such as cleaning cages, bedding changes, and sanitation checks
- Help with pet care duties including feeding, watering, and monitoring animals’ health and behavior
- Taking video and photos daily for clients
- Engage with animals to provide comfort and socialization to promote positive behavior and reduce stress
Skills
- Passion for animal handling, pet care, and dog training with a desire to learn new techniques
- Previous dog trainiing experience or kennel worker assistant experience is a must and a strong plus
- Knowledge of animal restraint methods and safe handling practices
- Experience working with dogs or other animals in a kennel or pet care setting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for kennel maintenance or animal transport
- Ability to clean thouroughly without micromanaging
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members
- Basic pet grooming or pet sitting experience is beneficial for providing comprehensive care
