Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee compliance programs aligned with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), State, Local and Federal regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation, resident records, and operational procedures to ensure adherence to regulation and best practices.
- Lead staff training initiatives on regulatory updates, HIPAA privacy rules, accuracy, billing practices, and compliance management strategies.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to develop policies that promote compliance with federal and state regulations while fostering a resident-centered care environment.
- Monitor ongoing changes in healthcare laws and regulations; communicate updates effectively across teams to ensure continuous compliance.
- Manage incident investigations related to compliance violations or regulatory concerns; prepare detailed reports for internal review or external agencies as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory agencies during inspections or audits; facilitate transparent communication and swift resolution of any issues identified.
- Oversee all staff for compliance purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience in healthcare compliance management within assisted living.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules, State, Local and Federal Regulation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead compliance training sessions for multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and audit processes.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into actionable policies for staff at all levels.
