Job description:
Zoladz Construction Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead utility and heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for the overall success of assigned projects, including financial performance, scheduling, contract compliance, and client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning & Execution
- Manage projects from contract award through final closeout
- Review and understand project contracts, scopes of work, plans, and specifications
- Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with Superintendents
- Ensure proper planning, sequencing, and resource allocation
- Support field operations by removing obstacles and providing timely decisions
Financial Management
- Establish and manage project budgets
- Track job costs, production, and forecasts
- Monitor labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs
- Prepare and submit monthly billing and pay applications
- Identify, price, and manage change orders
- Forecast project costs to completion and protect project margins
Contract Administration & Documentation
- Manage RFIs, submittals, permits, and approvals
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements and project specifications
- Maintain complete and accurate project documentation
- Support claims, negotiations, and dispute resolution when required
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers
- Review scopes, contracts, and insurance requirements
- Help coordinate subcontractor schedules and performance
- Ensure subcontractors meet safety, quality, and schedule expectations
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the project’s primary point of contact for owners, engineers, and inspectors
- Maintain positive, professional client relationships
- Participate in project meetings and progress reviews
- Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities clearly and proactively
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 3 years experience as a Project Manager in civil & heavy construction
· Has experience in Microsoft Office, Technically savy
· Proficiency with project management and scheduling software
· Preferred experience with Cost Estimating in a construction environment but not required
· Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and scheduling
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects
· Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
· Proficiency with project management and scheduling software
Pay: $100,000 to $120,000 Salary dependent on experience
