Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth operations within the dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for patients.
Hours:
MONDAYS AND FRIDAYS
Mondays
7:40 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Fridays
8:40 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Take dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage dental clinic operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care.
- Ensure infection control protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in electronic records. Experience with Opendental is helpful.
- Track inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
- Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry.
- Familiarity with dental coding, documentation, and records management.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in clinical settings.
