Designer Drapery Studio is looking for an experienced seamstress to join our custom drapery workroom in Arvada. This is a hands-on, part-time position supporting the fabrication of luxury custom drapery and other soft good treatments.
You do not need previous drapery fabrication experience—we are willing to train the right person. However, applicants must have extensive sewing experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to learn professional workroom fabrication techniques.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with custom drapery fabrication
- Measuring and cutting fabric accurately
- Working at the fabrication table
- Folding, pinning and tacking drapery
- Operating industrial and standard sewing machines
- Pressing and preparing completed pieces
- Assisting with fabric inspection and pattern placement
- Keeping the workroom clean and organized
- Learning our fabrication methods and quality standards
The ideal candidate:
- Has extensive sewing experience
- Is comfortable working with large amounts of fabric
- Is accurate with measurements and cutting
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is dependable, organized and eager to learn
- Can follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team
- Is comfortable standing and working at a large table for extended periods
- Can safely lift and maneuver rolls of fabric and completed drapery
Schedule:
- Part-time, approximately 20–30 hours per week
- Consistent, set weekly schedule
- All work is completed on-site at our Arvada workroom
- This is not a remote or work-from-home position
Compensation:
Hourly pay based on sewing experience and skill level.
