Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Micro-Trenching Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating specialized equipment to create precise micro-trenches for utility installation, ensuring efficient and safe execution of underground infrastructure projects. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, construction machinery maintenance, and adherence to safety regulations will be vital to delivering quality results on time and within scope. Responsibilities
- Operate micro-trenching machines and related heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, water trucks, and dump trucks to perform precise trenching tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Utilize utility locating tools and techniques to accurately identify underground utilities before trenching begins, preventing damage or service disruptions.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and company safety protocols diligently during all phases of work.
- Assist with horizontal drilling operations and other related tasks involved in underground utility installation projects.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure proper site preparation, trenching, backfilling, and paving activities are completed efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of daily operations, equipment usage, safety checks, and project progress.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators (including Caterpillar models), dozers, loaders, graders, water trucks, tanker trucks, and paving machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on construction machinery.
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and general safety practices on construction sites.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in utility locating and underground infrastructure installation.
- Ability to operate specialized equipment such as horizontal drills and micro-trenching machines with precision.
- Prior experience working with heavy equipment like backhoes, graders, dozers, loaders, and water trucks is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Pay: $25.56 - $30.78 per hour
