Commissioning Field Engineer
EarthStream Global are currently recruiting for the following position to support ongoing projects in Virginia:
Overview
The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the testing, start-up, and commissioning of low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems. This includes equipment such as breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays, and motor control centers, across both field and manufacturing environments.
This role requires a solid understanding of complex electrical systems and testing equipment. You will also contribute to maintaining a safe work environment while supporting successful project delivery. Travel may be required at local, regional, or national levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior commissioning engineers with coordination and review of electrical deliverables
- Produce and review basic electrical drawings, commissioning plans, and data sheets
- Carry out routine electrical calculations
- Assist in reviewing vendor documentation for specification compliance
- Use internal engineering systems to access standards and best practices
Requirements
- 10+ years of electrical experience with a HS diploma/GED, or 8+ years with an associate degree, or 5+ years with a bachelor’s degree
- Must have valid U.S. work authorisation
- Experience in electronics installation and/or maintenance across multiple systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings (electrical, mechanical, civil, and architectural)
- Familiarity with standards such as NETA, NEC, and NFPA 70E
- OEM field service training certification
