As a Shift Leader, you will oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure exceptional customer service, product quality, and cleanliness. You will lead and support the team while maintaining operational efficiency and financial accountability. The Shift Leader plays a key role in creating a positive work environment and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
Essential Functions
The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Oversee daily restaurant operations to maintain efficiency, safety, and high performance.
· Lead and support the team by delegating tasks, coaching, and ensuring adherence to company standards.
· Ensure compliance with company procedures for product preparation, customer service, sanitation, and food safety.
· Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring proper portion control and consistency.
· Manage inventory by receiving, organizing, rotating stock, and monitoring freshness and quality.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the restaurant, including dining, kitchen, and storage.
· Handle customer concerns professionally, ensuring satisfaction and resolving issues promptly.
· Support recruitment and retention efforts, including training new team members and reinforcing company expectations.
· Maintain financial accountability, including cash handling, register accuracy, and loss prevention.
· Complete shift opening and closing duties, including checklists and reporting.
· Perform additional duties as needed or assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
· This position may oversee Crew Members and support staff during assigned shifts.
· Responsible for coaching, directing, and ensuring performance standards are met.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
· Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and use of hands and arms to perform job duties.
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks related to food preparation and customer service.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25–40 pounds.
· Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and point-of-sale systems.
· Work is performed in a fast-paced restaurant environment with frequent customer interaction.
· Exposure to heat, steam, cold temperatures, grease, and food odors.
· Exposure to noise from kitchen equipment and customer activity.
· Work may involve slippery floors, hot surfaces, and close proximity to moving equipment.
· Schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
· Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred; not required.
· Prior experience in a quick-service restaurant (QSR), food service, retail, or customer service environment is helpful but not required.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and apply basic food safety and sanitation practices.
· Basic math and cash-handling skills are preferred.
· Willingness to learn new tasks and work collaboratively as part of a team.
· Food handler certification or willingness to obtain one as required by local or state regulations.
