We are seeking a dedicated and organized Intermodal Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for overseeing the movement of goods and managing fleet operations effectively.
Duties
- Coordinate daily transportation activities, including scheduling and dispatching drivers.
- Monitor fleet operations to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Utilize logistics software and phone systems to communicate with drivers and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping and receiving documentation.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize routes and improve efficiency.
- Address any issues that arise during transport, providing solutions in real-time.
- Implement transportation planning strategies to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.
- Familiarity with fleet management practices and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for route planning.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with drivers and clients.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using technology for tracking shipments and managing transportation tasks.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
