Duties
- Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and mobile payment methods with precision and integrity.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring the cash drawer is balanced at the start and end of each shift.
- Assist in stocking shelves and merchandising products to enhance store presentation and maximize sales opportunities.
- Upsell additional products or services to customers to increase sales and improve their shopping experience.
- Demonstrate product knowledge by conducting product demos when appropriate and sharing features or benefits with customers.
- Follow phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone.
- Support store operations by supervising team members during shifts when needed, ensuring smooth daily functions.
- Maintain awareness of retail store policies regarding cash handling, security procedures, and inventory control.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations is essential.
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities, are highly valued for engaging diverse customers effectively.
- Demonstrated ability in retail math for accurate cash handling, balancing registers, and managing cash drawers.
- Knowledge of retail store product lines and merchandising techniques to assist customers confidently.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Experience in stocking shelves, product demos, upselling techniques, and retail sales transactions will set you apart.
