We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our Heavy Civil Construction team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in civil construction estimating. The Junior Estimator will assist in preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid proposals, and project budgets for underground utility, site development, roadway, and earthwork projects.
Duties
- Assist in preparing accurate quantity takeoffs from construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Support the development of competitive cost estimates and bid proposals for heavy civil construction projects.
- Review plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and project manuals to understand project scope and identify potential risks.
- Perform quantity calculations for earthwork, underground utilities, concrete, asphalt, drainage, and related civil construction activities.
- Utilize estimating software, Bluebeam, Excel, and digital takeoff tools to prepare estimates and bid documentation.
- Assist with obtaining pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Organize and compare subcontractor quotations to ensure complete bid coverage.
- Help prepare bid tabs, cost breakdowns, and proposal documents.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as required.
- Perform other estimating and preconstruction duties as assigned.
Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent field experience in heavy civil construction may be considered.
- 0–3 years of estimating or heavy civil construction experience.
- Basic understanding of civil construction plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
