JOB SUMMARY DEPARTMENT
Reporting to the Site Leader, this position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production operations and serving as the Site Safety Lead. This position plays a key role in fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and workplace safety while acting as a resource for employees and leadership.
DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize the company's ERP system or equivalent to independently review, verify, and close production batch tickets, exercising judgment to ensure accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and meet customer delivery requirements.
- Review and validate batch ticket documentation, ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of production records.
- Analyze production and batch data to collaborate with Technical team to help optimize production processes.
- Develop, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Serve as the Site Safety Lead by independently managing the site's safety management system (HSI), evaluating safety performance, coordinating required training, maintaining Near Miss reporting, and preparing monthly safety communications.
- Lead site safety committee meetings, facilitating discussions, evaluating safety concerns, and driving corrective and preventive actions to strengthen the site's safety culture.
- Train, coach, and develop hourly employees in safe work practices, standard operating procedures, and housekeeping.
- Promote Operational Excellence by identifying improvement opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Evaluate existing work instructions and independently draft or revise standard work documentation for management review, approval, and document control when process improvements or deficiencies are identified.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of department and plant procedures, ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational requirements that impact customer satisfaction.
- Lead and actively participate in problem-solving initiatives, including root cause analysis, 6S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and other continuous improvement activities, implementing sustainable corrective actions where appropriate.
- Monitor production areas to ensure workspaces remain organized, safe, and compliant with company policies, identifying and addressing potential hazards or operational risks. • Investigate production material variances, analyze contributing factors, determine appropriate corrective actions, and coordinate resolution with cross-functional teams.
- Oversee daily site operations and making operational decisions in the absence of the Site Leader, ensuring continuity of production, safety, and business objectives.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate, coach, and hold team accountable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to function effectively in a team environment.
- Well organized and self-directed
- High integrity and honesty
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to interact and interface with production personnel as well as management.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent, preferred.
- 3+ years of chemical manufacturing experience or equivalent required.
- OSHA 30 completion is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

INFORMATION, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Schedule: 8AM-5PM Monday through Friday.
Pay: This position has an hourly rate range of $85,000.00 - $87,500.00. The range represents the expected hourly rate range for this position. The actual hourly rate may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location
