Economy Fire Protection is a well-established South Florida fire protection contractor with more than 35 years of experience. We specialize in fire sprinkler installation, service, maintenance, and inspections for commercial and residential projects.
We are growing and looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Apprentice/Fitter who already understands the trade and is ready to become a valuable part of our installation team.
This is not an entry-level helper position. The ideal candidate has hands-on fire sprinkler or pipefitting experience and can complete assigned work under the direction of a foreman.
You will not be expected to run projects or supervise a crew. However, you must be able to follow instructions, work independently when assigned a task, and complete quality work safely and efficiently.

Position Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems
- Install steel and CPVC piping for commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems
- Install sprinkler heads, piping, fittings, valves, hangers, and related equipment
- Measure, cut, thread, groove, assemble, and connect pipe and tubing
- Follow blueprints, shop drawings, specifications, and instructions provided by the foreman
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, threading machines, grooving machines, lifts, ladders, and other equipment
- Complete daily work assignments accurately and within the expected timeframe
- Assist foremen and other crew members in keeping projects organized and on schedule
- Follow company policies, job-site procedures, and all safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Properly care for company tools, materials, and equipment
- Report material shortages, job-site issues, or safety concerns to the foreman
- Work professionally with coworkers, contractors, inspectors, customers, and other trades
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of fire sprinkler installation or pipefitting experience
- Hands-on experience installing steel and CPVC fire sprinkler piping
- Familiarity with sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, hangers, and fire sprinkler equipment
- Basic ability to read and follow blueprints and shop drawings
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to complete assigned tasks without constant supervision
- Dependable, punctual, and accountable
- Strong work ethic and pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to work well as part of a crew
- Commitment to job-site safety
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to travel to job sites throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties
- Availability to work occasional nights or weekends when required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders and work from lifts
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and work overhead
- Ability to perform physically demanding construction work in indoor and outdoor environments

We are looking for someone who already understands the basics of fire sprinkler installation and is ready to contribute to the crew from day one.
You do not need to know how to run an entire project, but you must be able to listen to the foreman, understand your assignment, ask questions when needed, and complete your work properly.
