Essential Duties and Specific Responsibilities
- Provide leadership to operational employees regarding safety, quality, production, cost, and training
- Supervise operational crews and ensure proper staffing
- Oversee specialty coater facility
- Ensure effective training and procedures to optimize performance
- Identify process improvement projects and provides leadership for implementation
- Enhance operator skills sets in operations, troubleshooting, and problem solving
- Build operator self-sufficiency for safety, quality, scheduling, staffing, maintenance etc.
- Support new product development to fill PM time with profitable grades
- Ensure proper inventory management to maximize inventory turns
- Coordinate major maintenance activities, capital planning and operator-based reliability
- Create a visual workplace with proper equipment, storage locations, cleanliness, and orderliness
- Build formal housekeeping responsibilities into positions and audits to ensure compliance
- Track performance, identify areas for improvement, build action plans, and follow through to implementation
- Create budgets, grade costing standards, and monitors variances
Qualifications
- Experience – 5 to 10 years combined coating, leadership and/or paper production experience is strongly preferred. Equivalent experience in converting operations may be acceptable. Crew supervisory experience is preferred. Knowledge of paper coating operations and converting is preferred. Release liner experience is a plus.
- Competencies – Strong leadership skills, strong communication skills, highly motivated, strong practical experience, team player, accountable and responsible for decisions and impact.
- Education – B.S. in engineering or sciences preferred.
