Medical Device Assembler – Contract
A growing medical device manufacturer in Marlborough, MA is seeking three detail-driven Medical Device Assemblers to build precision products that support patient care. In this hands-on cleanroom role, you'll inspect, kit, and assemble fiber-optic components with care — playing a key part in delivering quality every shift.
Schedule of the Medical Device Assembler:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Contract, 6+ months (3 openings).
Pay Rate of the Medical Device Assembler:
$21.50 per hour
Responsibilities of the Medical Device Assembler:
- Inspect, kit, install, and assemble components of fiber-optic medical products, including optical fibers, ferrules, connectors, and packaging components.
- Operate manufacturing test equipment such as fiber-optic strippers and cleavers, power meters, laser test stations, RFID readers, and microscopes.
- Use bonding materials, including epoxies and glues, to complete assemblies.
- Perform basic setup and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
- Train other assemblers as assigned.
- Wear appropriate cleanroom attire — coats, hair and beard nets, gloves, and booties — while working in a controlled manufacturing area.
- Use generic cleaning liquids such as alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, and acetone.
- Maintain the cleanliness of work and common areas.
- Cross-train in production processes or areas as assigned by the supervisor.
- Meet assigned production metrics and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications of the Medical Device Assembler:
- Good communication skills, with the ability to understand and follow verbal and written work instructions.
- Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime.
- Ability to be present and on time for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work carefully and consistently while identifying errors.
- Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Windows is a plus but not required.
