Title: Long Term Substitute Teacher –
French
Reports to: Level Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:30 am- 3:30 pm
POSITION SUMMARY:
In the absence of the regular teacher, the long term substitute teacher is responsible for teaching a full load of Upper
Learning French classes.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities include and are not limited to:
- Teach/Facilitate five sections of French courses in Upper Learning.
- Delivers curriculum, assigns related coursework and tracks student performance; evaluates programs and
student progress (written evaluation-academic updates & progress reports and conferences)
- Maintains safe learning environment for students.
- Delivers thorough and timely feedback to students for essays and assessments.
- Demonstrates an attitude of flexibility with regard to curriculum decisions in order to meet instructional needs.
- Provides guidance for learning according to the lesson plans.
- Work with students during Tutorial.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and engaging classroom environment.
- Collaborates with colleagues and seeks feedback in the spirit of continuous improvement.
- Serve as an advisor to an assigned group of students.
- Participates constructively and collaboratively in professional development, grade level, and department meetings.
- Familiarity with school procedures and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as directed by principal or assistant principal.
- Embodies and advocates for the mission and vision of the school.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required Experience: Prefer 3-5 years of teaching experience in an
independent school

o Ability to incorporate technology in daily
tasks
