Job Overview
As a Truck Driver for Summerhill Goat Dairy, you will be responsible for the safe and sanitary transport of raw milk. The ideal candidate ensures accurate weights and measures, collects necessary samples, and maintains strict adherence to local and federal transportation regulations. This role requires three days of work from 4 AM to 1 PM and two days of work 6 AM to 3 PM.
Responsibilities
- Transport Operations: Safely operate a commercial Class A or Class B truck to transport raw milk.
- Sampling & Weighing: Correctly draw representative milk samples and take exact weight/volume measurements at farm tanks.
- Compliance: Adhere to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and food safety standards.
- Documentation: Read, write, and legibly complete necessary weight sheets and logbooks.
- Maintenance: Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the tanker and equipment are sanitary and in good working order.
Requirements
- License: Current and valid Class A or Class B Driver's License.
- Endorsements: Tanker Endorsement is mandatory.
- Health: Valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (Health Card).
- Dairy Certification: Valid Weigher and Sampler Card
- Literacy: Basic ability to read and write in English to manage logs and paperwork.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with a history of safe commercial driving.
